Looking out the kitchen window
Flashes of color caught my eye
Apple blossoms in regalia swayed
A gentle fragrance wafted by
I seem to miss you more each day
As my heart longs for you still
Old time memories burned in my soul
Seem to hold me against my will
A song, a simple word or phrase
Regresses me to times now gone
So bittersweet that my heart aches
Yet to them I am drawn
Love's treasures I still hold so dear
Bring both comfort and despair
Dreading the journey back to the present
Because I know you won't be there
But for now, I'll just be swept away
Recalling the joy I claimed as mine
On a long ago night when first we kissed
As they played Apple Blossom Time
