A memory for Mother's Day
My mind flashed back into the past
While making my daughter's bed
I saw children there on bended knee
As Mother bowed her head
Every night before going to bed
Four sisters in a row
Knelt with Mother to thank the Lord
My heart still misses her so
She believed in teaching her children
In the way that we should go
So that we'd never depart from it
As we traveled down life's road
Time is fickle and the years flew by
We grew up and moved away
Taking with us all the wonderful things
That Mother taught us when we prayed
So much has happened since 'way back then
Yet it seems like yesterday
When a Mother and her four little girls
Knelt by the bed to pray
