Sledding down a snowy hill
Laughing at the daring thrill
Skating on the frozen creek
Eating icicles that we sneak
Throwing snowballs that go "splat!"
Bundled up, we all look fat
Toes and fingers turning blue
Warming up when we are through
Making snowmen jolly and fat
Leaving butt prints where we sat
Siblings enjoying winter fun
Christmas season just begun
Decorating with twinkling lights
Chattering teeth on chilly nights
By the fire, marshmallows toast
On the hearth, sweet chestnuts roast
Getting ready for Santa Claus
Hoof prints left by reindeer paws
Ribboned packages under the tree
Hoping the biggest one's for me
Sneaking goodies that Mommy makes
Careful to avoid Grandma's fruitcakes
Holly and candles all through the house
Christmas Eve, being quiet as a mouse
Joyous in this wonderful season
Knowing that Jesus is the reason
Celebrating the Christ child's birth
From every corner of the Earth
Family gathered on Christmas Day
Bellies full, and it's out to play
Never tiring of winter fun
Soon, a new year has begun
Alone now, watching old movie clips
Refreshing a memory that sometimes slips
Recalling happy times, oh so grand
From a long-ago winter wonderland
