Dear Lord, I'm in need again
My heart filled with despair
I need sweet peace and comfort
As I come to You in prayer

Please surround me with Your love
And all my fears allay
I'm old and getting senile
Now I'm being sent away

I raised a family in this house
The only one I've ever known
My husband died five years ago
Our children are all grown

I know that I'm forgetful, Lord
And my body sick and frail
But I like living on my own
With You, I cannot fail

I know my children love me
And think they know what's best
My heart and soul in turmoil
I can neither sleep nor rest

Let me spend my remaining days
In the comfort of this familiar place
With sweet memories all around me
And the gift of Your saving grace

Dear Lord, You're everything to me
Protector, Saviour and Friend
Convey Your spirit to my children's hearts
Let their plans for me rescind

Lord, take me to my Heavenly home
Where the streets are paved with gold
From a world where I'm abandoned
Just because I'm sick and old
