With autumn, comes the gleaning
Our crops have thrived this year
We're thankful for God's blessings
As harvest time draws near
There's enough to last through winter
With its bitter cold and snows
Hard work, faith and perseverance
Determine how the harvest goes
God planted us on Earth's landscape
Gave us the tools to cultivate
Whether our gardens fail or thrive
Depends on how we've kept the faith
We must keep the weeds from growing
Instructions in God's word are found
Fertilize our crops with belief and trust
And never let obstructions confound
I want to be in God's harvest
After my time on Earth is done
And live with Him in Heaven
When He gathers His children Home
