The weather lady said we're snowed in again
Of course, she didn't need to tell me that
It happens a couple of times each winter
In my secluded mountain valley flat
~*~*~*~
Friends are always urging me to move
But they don't know what I know
I love the warm and fuzzy feeling I get
Being surrounded by all this snow
~*~*~*~
I'm blessed with a dozen or so neighbors
And we all look out for each other
Times like this, we're all we've got
With every family depending on another
~*~*~*~
My freezer and pantry are very well stocked
Guess that's what comes from planning ahead
I have lots of firewood in case the furnace dies
And several heavy, warm quilts on my bed
~*~*~*~
The nights are so quiet and peaceful
No proverbial creatures are stirring
The fire is crackling; the wind is blowing
And I hear a distant snowmobile whirring
~*~*~*~
Snuggled down in my big featherbed
I thank God for all His blessings
And for letting me live yet another year
In my valley with its wintry dressings
~*~*~*~
