Snowflakes fall gently to the ground
Different every one
A downy blanket of snowy white
Winter has begun
Inside, the fire is crackling bright
The room is dimly lit
Such fun to snuggle together
'Neath an afghan knit
Making plans for Christmas
That special time of year
When loved ones get together
And fill the house with cheer
Deck the halls and trim the tree
Excitement growing daily
Wrapping gifts and sending cards
Singing, oh, so gaily
Gingerbread men and candy canes
Fruitcake and pies abound
Children looking for a treat
Making not a sound
Christmas Day is here at last
We're gathered 'round the table
Gifts all opened;dinner's through
To move, we're hardly able
In just a week, the New Year comes
And with it, celebration
The old year out; a new one in
What a wonderful sensation
Winter weather freezing cold
The wind is fiercely howling
The fireplace a welcome retreat
Faces now are scowling
Days are getting longer
And spring is just ahead
We dream of sun and flowers
But winter holds instead
Until one day, to our surprise
The daffodils are blooming
All gold and yellow, orange and white
Springtime once more is looming
The Earth has made another turn
Another season imparts
All part of God's eternal plan
We thank Him from our hearts
