Arm and arm, we walked together
Through the crisp, new fallen snow
Bundled in our warmest clothes
Faces wearing a rosy glow

Children at the duck pond
Hoping for an early freeze
You gave me a loving smile
I gave your hand a squeeze

Oblivious to the wintry air
In the beautiful moonlit night
At the park, we sat awhile
And held each other tight

A colorful array of holiday lights
Twinkled as in a kaleidoscope
Christmas shoppers scurried to and fro
Readying for the season of hope

Sweeping snowflakes from my hair
You whispered of our love
Then put your arms around my waist
As the wind blew off your glove

I remember your hearty laugh
And the cocoa when we got home
I still walk as we did then
But now, I must walk alone
