Dedicated to Dr. Paul Mitchell following my eye surgery.
Each new day holds another surprise
For the sight restored unto my eyes
Autumn colors so bold and bright
God's rainbow sent to my delight
As the seasons change, I will adapt
To nature's wonders no longer trapped
Behind clouded eyes that could not see
Tremendous spectrums so vividly
A morning sky so bright and blue
No longer shielded with a misty hue
As breathtakingly beautiful as when
My eyes saw clearly way back then
No longer held captive behind a haze
I now rejoice in the changing days
And view the world with reverence
With awe and humble recompense
