A little boy without a Dad
A man without a son
Were the very best ingredients
A relationship had begun
When he was only three years old
A little curly-haired boy
Wiggled his way into our hearts
And filled our lives with joy
We all grew closer, then one day
Adoption was discussed
Papers were filed and a court date set
This twosome was a must
Dad and son grew closer
As the years went quickly by
They shared the good times and the bad
With proper discipline applied
Softball, homework and Cincinnati Reds
Vacations far and near
Have really become a tradition
For Dad and son each year
Last week he started high school
A new phase has begun
I'm proud to be related to
My grandson and my son
