With fondness, I can still recall
Going to church when just a child
Joyous feelings abounded there
My heart and soul beguiled
We all looked forward to the Sundays
When homecoming day was held
People came from miles around
With enthusiasm not to be quelled
Nearly every time, a half dozen or so
Turned their souls over to the Lord
Baptized right there in Peter Creek
Their faith and hope restored
Oh, what a marvelous, glorious time
Of preaching, praying, shouting, singing
To this day, I'm still reminded
How that old church house was ringing
The second Sunday of every month
Most everyone could be found
At the church's all-day singing
And dinner on the ground
