Our Guardian Angel

In Memory of Lena

Our family has a Guardian Angel
Lena Carol is her name
She never had a fortune
And never aspired to fame

One of seven siblings
A quiet and loving soul
She left us in October
A sheep taken from the fold

"Dear God, why did you take her
And leave us with no answer?
You even kept her with us
While she survived her cancer."

She left two beautiful daughters
We're all still filled with grief
We comfort ourselves with hoping
That she found sweet relief

Abandoned by a loved one
The tangled web she fought
She left this Earth but finally found
The peace she bravely sought

She's now with God in Heaven
And is safe within His fold
Our beautiful Guardian Angel
Now has peace and wealth untold
