Why do you bless me, oh Lord,
When my live is upside down.
When everything is going wrong,
And I face each day with a frown.
Why do you bless me, oh Lord,
When I refuse to see the good,
In my neighbors and those around me,
As in my heart I know that I should.
Why do you bless me, oh Lord,
When self pity pulls me down.
The burden I have on my shoulder,
I can't even lift off the ground.
Why do you bless me, oh Lord,
I said to myself once more.
Then suddenly, a still small voice,
Seemed to whisper as if to say.
Why do I bless you my child,
It's all because "I Love You."
Your burdens I'll lift from your shoulder.
You don't have to carry it any longer.
I have put you through the test,
And you've held on to my hand.
So I bless you because I love you,
You don't have to understand.
Just follow in my footsteps,
Trust me to lead the way.
I bless you because I love you,
I'll be with you each step of the way.
