Once I was adrift, awash in dark sin I had no purpose deep within. My soul was lost to worldly ways, Then I found out that Jesus saves. The old family Bible willed to me Opened my eyes that I may see, Satan's path I was racing down Would never take me Heaven bound. I read that frayed Bible every day Then on my knees I would pray, I prayed God make me pure again, A reborn child free from sin. For the first time in all these years My mind is free I know no fears, Satan's shackles are cast aside And in my heart the Lord abides. Jesus washed all my sins away I'm a happier person every day, He is my daytime guiding light, My guardian through the night. The old family Bible saved my soul By pointing the way for me to go.
